3 Ways to make your day Productive

motivational

Establishing a great motivational morning routine is essential to having a productive day. Get your day started off right each morning by getting your mind right, moving your body and eating a healthy breakfast. It’s the best way to prepare your body and mind for a fantastic day!

Remember those mornings when you woke up late and in a panic because you had to get to XYZ on time. “Maybe” you made it on time, but I can guarantee that you were not in a relaxed state. Now the rest of your day follows suit. Everything you do is in a panicked, reactive state, struggling the entire day to catch up. How productive can you really be when you are at the mercy of whatever comes into your life.

Everyone needs a time to “ramp into” the day, and the universe gave you the perfect time to do it… morning. It is already hardwired into our biology to wake up when the sun comes up. That sunlight produces cortisol within us and it slowly starts to energize your body and mind. Now is the time to set yourself up for a successful day.

But what should you do? I believe there are a couple of basic things that could be beneficial to all people.

  • START OFF RIGHT
  • Perform some sort of meditation/affirmation/intention thought to get your mind pointed in the right direction. You will feel restful, focused and ready to face your day.

  • STAY HYDRATED
  • Drink a bunch of water and eat foods that work for you. Your mom was right when she said breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Coffee is not breakfast and that cup of Joe will only take you so far. Breaking your fast in the morning with good food will fuel your body and mind for the rest of the day. Also, it kick starts your metabolism. You are approximately 70% water and when you wake up in the morning, you have not had any for around 8-10 hours. You should be having around half your body weight in oz of water each day. No time like the morning to get and keep your body hydrated. This will also get you “on track” to stay hydrated for the rest of the day.

  • MOVE THAT BODY
  • This part is dependent on how you feel in the morning. The morning is the perfect time to do a couple of stretches. If you get your blood flowing throughout your body, it will thank you by loosening that tight neck and back and carry you throughout the day.
Lastly, and most importantly, IF YOU DON’T GET ENOUGH SLEEP, NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO IN THE MORNING, IT WILL BE FOR NAUGHT! Not sleeping an average of 8 hours limits your thinking, increases your emotional state, decreases any healing… and is the quickest way to screw up the next day.
Use these tips to “lock-in” a morning routine. It’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face, a pep in your step, and give you the opportunity to be the best you can be!
